Colwyn Bay,North Wales - Appeal for witnesses after attempted robbery in Colwyn Bay

Police are appealing for information after an attempted robbery which took place over the weekend.

The victim, a women in her 30's, fought off two men on Conwy Road, Colwyn Bay on Sunday, January 22.

Det Sergeant Chris Williams at St Asaph CID said “At approximately 11am on Sunday 22nd January 2017 a local woman aged in her 30’s was walking along Conwy Road, Colwyn Bay when she was accosted by two men close to Barclays Bank.

"They attempted to steal some belongings from her but she bravely fought them off and they fled the scene empty handed, one in the direction of the ‘west end’. An investigation is well underway and we are very keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and saw any suspicious men or behaviour particularly in the time leading up to the attack.

"The victim is fortunately physically unharmed but understandably very shaken and we are supporting her through this difficult time. 

“From enquiries made so far we are interested in identifying two men. One was on a push bike and left the scene in the direction towards West End, Colwyn Bay. He is aged in his late teens, slim build wearing a black hooded top riding a mountain bike. The second man is described as scruffy and aged in his 50’s or 60’s. 

"We want to speak to anyone who may have seen these men in the area of Barclays or Royal Bank of Scotland, Conwy Road prior to the incident or may have witnessed the incident and its aftermath.”
